Velez-Malaga is located just 4 klms inland from the coastal town of Torre del Mar and is just 35 minutes drive from Malaga airport.and a ten minute journey to Lake Vinuela and Puente don Manuel that are both popular with ex-pat Brits living in Spain. Velez-Malaga has some fantastic old buildings dating back to medieval times and the town has a lot of history. If you are looking for the "real Spain" then Velez-Malaga may be the choice for you as it is not yet over-run by British ex-pats.
Velez-Malaga has some fantastic old tapas bars and is a wonderfull town to explore, you will find many different types of architecture and some traditional Spanish style houses and office blocks combined with new buildings. The feria is also worth a visit in September. In Velez-Malaga there are many long term properties to let and a wide selection of Holiday rentals also if you are looking to rent an apartment in Velez-Malaga there is huge choice. Just five minutes drive North of Velez-Malaga at the junction towards Benamargosa airfield is "El Cruce" where you can have a three course lunch for €8 incl a drink, get there at 1.30pm to miss the mad 2pm rush.
